November 18th, 2009 | by clipshow817 |- More bad news for the Clipper as Kareem Rush has a torn ACL and is out for the season. Rush hurt his knee in the first quarter of the Hornets game. Kareem is a good guy and hope he has a speedy recovery. The Clippers bench is already thin with Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin out which moved up Al Thorton and Rasual Butler to the shooting guard spot.
- The Clippers have a ticket promotion for the game this Friday against the Denver Nuggets. Use the promo code “CLIPPERS” to save 25% off the lower level tickets for the game as well as a $15 gift certificate to Rosa Mexicano restaurants.
- Clippers injury report shows Eric Gordon listed as day-to-day with the strained groin and Blake Griffin still rehabbing the stress fracture in his left kneecap and may return mid-December.
In NBA news:
- The Phoenix Suns continue their solid (and surprising) start by being the first team to have 10 victories after beating the Rockets 111-105. Amare Stoudemire and Steve Nash continue leading the high-octane offense resembling the run-and-gun system they had success with before trading for Shaquille O’Neal.
- Kobe Bryant hit another milestone in his career scoring 40 points against the Detroit Pistons. This is Kobe’s 100th 40-point game and he got it shooting a 3-pointer at the end of the game. Kobe shouldn’t have had to play in the 4th as the Lakers were up 26 points but the Pistons clawed back to get as close as 8 points so coach Jackson had to put Kobe, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom back in the game to get the victory. Kobe now trails Wilt Chamberlain (271) and Michael Jordan (173) in 40-point performances. Congrats to Black Mamba!
- The Clippers aren’t the only ones with the injury problems. The Orlando Magic lost starting PG Jameer Nelson to a knee injury and will have arthroscopic surgery to repair the torn cartilage. Nelson is expected to be out four to six weeks.
- Too bad Blake Griffin’s still out because he would have been on the NBA.com Rookie Rankings.
